I'm going to continue looking into it and trying things. It's definitely the computer trying to recover from sleep mode but then failing to and shutting off. No fans spinning, nothing is going on when opening it back up. Positive that it's not something to do with screen brightness though, the computer is 100% off. I'm HOPING it is some type of BIOS/Config related thing but I'm at a loss for what to try.

I'll try contacting Samsung to see if it is some type of hardware issue. closing the laptop and then opening it back up and it would resume where I left off).

I am 100% sure that my computer worked just fine in sleep mode for most of the time I had the laptop though. I'm trying to remember if this just only started happening after dual booting CloudReady or if it was happening before this. Almost like it's trying to wake up from sleep but then fails to and shuts off. So the recurring theme here is that when the computer is normally about to wake up from sleep mode, it proceeds to turn the blue LED on for a couple seconds before it turns off. I then press the power button again and the computer boots up as if it has been shut off.

And nothing proceeds to wake the computer up. When I press the power button once (which usually would wake up the computer from sleep), that same blue power LED turns on for a couple seconds then shuts off. After I manually put the computer into sleep Windows and the sleep button, when I press buttons on the keyboard/external mouse/keyboard, nothing happens. When I then proceed to press the power button, it just boots up as if the computer was shut off.

At this point I have tried using an external keyboard with S3 Wake-up enabled, pressing all the buttons on the built-in keyboard, mouse, etc.

  • If I close the lid and then open it back up, the power light turns blue for a couple seconds then turns off.
  • What seems to be consistently happening is: It is only happening in CloudReady.Īs for the sleep mode which is very frustrating is the following. It is definitely a trackpad reading to the computer, but this does not happen whatsoever in the Windows 10 OS when I boot into there so it's not a hardware problem with the trackpad. It still becomes choppy or stops completely. I tried your suggestion of being more careful about pressure and nothing really changes. As per the touchpad functionality, I tried using a mouse and there's no choppiness or lag whatsoever.
